‘The Dependent Victim’ or the Independent Individual: Which One do We Choose to Be?

Without comprehending the following article’s message, it might seem controversial, especially to ‘minorities’. But if you take the time to read and discern what this writer is communicating, then you should come to understand that he is writing about a true freedom for every human being, a true freedom for every INDIVIDUAL.

So I ask that you not rush to any conclusion, until you have read the entire article:

The psychological operation to destroy the individual

by Jon Rappoport

February 28, 2015

“American and British feminism has amazingly collapsed backward again into whining, narcissistic victimology… Too many of today’s young feminists seem to want hovering, paternalistic authority figures to protect and soothe them, an attitude I regard as servile, reactionary and glaringly bourgeois…” (Camille Paglia, the National Catholic Review, 2/25/15)

I could have titled this piece: “What government fears: the black entrepreneur.”

But the situation is much wider than that—-

Any person who comes out of an “officially designated victim-group” …and then succeeds in life on his own… and then goes one step further and refuses to identify his entire existence with his group… but instead stands as a unique individual… why, that person, at the very least, must be a criminal, if not a terrorist, right?

That’s the crux of the issue: never leave your group.

That’s how society, civilization, and culture are promoted these days.

“Groups have needs, agendas, and problems, and the solution will come from government.” That’s the all-embracing formula.

Who would invent and expand that formula? The beneficiary. Government.

The fake appearance is: victim groups are fighting for recognition and special status, and the government is pushing back—but that’s now a ruse. That’s a cover story. In fact, victim groups and government have the same goal: a relationship based on dependence. One side depends and the other side gives and protects.

The individual is out of the equation. He is portrayed as the greed-obsessed reason these victim groups exist and need help in the first place.

Banks, Wall Street, and mega-corporations are depicted as the end result of individualism, whereas the government is valiantly striving to solve this endemic problem.

In fact, government, banks, Wall Street, and mega-corporations are joined at the hip. They brush each others’ teeth first thing every morning.

Political correctness and the burgeoning movement to outlaw “offensive language” are merely tactics to: preserve groups’ separate identities; foment conflict between them; and ultimately foster their dependence on government authority.

The idea that the free and independent individual is a sociopath responsible for the existence of victims is absurd.

The truth is, you can’t get free individuals to depend on government. Only “besieged groups” can be relied on for that purpose.

In the State’s eyes, a perfect society would be composed of groups who have entirely forgotten the concept of the individual, as if it never existed.

Peter Collero, of the department of sociology, Western Oregon University, has written a book titled: The Myth of Individualism: How Social Forces Shape Our Lives:

“Most people today believe that an individual is a person with an independent and distinct identification. This, however, is a myth.”

When Callero writes “identification,” he isn’t talking about ID cards and Social Security numbers. He’s talking about an absence of any uniqueness from person to person. He’s asserting there is no significant distinction between any two people. There aren’t two individuals to begin with. They’re a group.

This downgrading of the individual human spirit is far from accidental. It’s launched as a sustained propaganda campaign, the ultimate purpose of which is top-down control over billions of people organized into groups.

The cold truth is that the individualist creed of everybody for himself and the devil take the hindmost is principally responsible for the distress in which Western civilization finds itself — with investment racketeering at one end and labor racketeering at the other. Whatever merits the [individualist] creed may have had in the days of primitive agriculture and industry, it is not applicable in an age of technology, science, and rationalized economy. Once useful, it has become a danger to society.” (Charles Beard, 1931)

Beard, a celebrated historian, sees no difference between individual racketeering and the individual freely choosing and living his own life. In making this judgment, he becomes an intellectual/propaganda racketeer of the highest order.

“British empiricist philosophy is individualist. And it is of course clear that if the only criterion of true and false which a man accepts is that man’s, then he has no base for social agreement. The question of how man ought to behave is a social question, which always involves several people; and if he accepts no evidence and no judgment except his own, he has no tools with which to frame an answer.” (Jacob Bronowski, Science and Human Values, 1956).

Bronowski is quite sure that hearing other people’s evidence and then keeping one’s own counsel is wrong. One has to accept that evidence on its face. This is sheer idiocy. Individuals are capable of deciding, on their own, what social agreements to enter into.

Regardless of the fact that the State and its allies are real oppressors who contribute mightily to creating real victims, what I’m talking about here is something quite apart from that: growing numbers of people who voluntarily take on the victim-mantle and seek comfort in nests of self-promoting groups who exaggerate and distort their own claims to special status.

The State needs these people. The State wants these people. Increasingly, the State employs these people.

Edward Bernays, the father of modern public relations, wrote: “It is sometimes possible to change the attitudes of millions but impossible to change the attitude of one man.”

Bernays understood that the basis of successful propaganda is a mass audience, an audience composed of groups, not individuals.

Retired high-level propaganda operative, Ellis Medavoy (pseudonym), once told me, “There are two aspects of propaganda. There is everything you do to get people to think of themselves as group members. And then there are all the messages you send to those conditioned group members. You need both aspects.”

When a group assigns itself solid “victim-status,” it creates one basic rule: a member must not leave the group. Why? Because if he does, he’s claiming he is no longer a victim—and that assertion is a betrayal.

Nice and neat. A prison.

“I’m a free individual.”

“You’re crazy. There is no such thing. Now get back in the group where you belong.”

Down at the root, betrayal begins as self-betrayal. The individual gives up the ghost. From that point on, his politics don’t matter. He forgets what he could have been. He defines himself by race and religion and country and rank ideology and group. He finds words and feeling through which he can express his role in a stage play that decays him from the inside out.

Eventually, if lunatics have their way, every person on planet Earth will be designated a victim. That will be the group of groups… (emphasis added)

Here is the main point for me:

…betrayal begins as self-betrayal. The individual gives up the ghostHe forgets what he could have been. He defines himself by race and religion and country and rank ideology and group. He finds words and feeling through which he can express his role in a stage play that decays him from the inside out.

Betrayal begins with self! When we give up on who we are, as unique individuals, in order to belong to a ‘dependent group’, then we are betraying our selves. We no longer are our selves, we exist as this ‘race’ or that one, this religion or that one, this ideology or that one, this country or that one. We cease to exist as the unique individuals we truly are, because we have allowed our selves to be programmed as either a ‘victor’ or a ‘victim’.

You want a definition of how to destroy individualism (true freedom), so the powers that be can control the ‘dependent group’, the ‘dependent’ sheep to the slaughter? Here it is:

Bronowski states, “The question of how man [the individual] ought to behave is a social question, which always involves several people…”

According to this ‘intellectual’ pawn of the elite-swine, it is not my choice as to how I should ‘behave’, how I should live my life, it is the ‘several people’, the ‘dependent group’, who are to decide, for me, how I should ‘behave’, how I should live my life. This is individual freedom? Like hell it is!

And here is an inconvenient truth:

Political correctness and the burgeoning movement to outlaw “offensive language” are merely tactics to: preserve groups’ separate identities; foment conflict between them; and ultimately foster their dependence on government authority.

This is what I believe and have written about before: ‘divide and conquer’ is the way of the elite-swine, as it always has been. The psychopathic powers that be have separated we the people of this world in every way possible: ethnicity/color, economically, politically, by gender, by creed, by national identity and by ‘rights’ given, and ‘rights’ withheld. They have divided and conquered most of us, by taking away our individual, natural sense that we are all related, we are all human beings, we are all each others’ mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers. They have stolen not only our lives, they have stolen our birthright as being vital, individual parts of humanity. They have stolen our INDIVIDUALITY and HUMANITY!

By buying into manipulative devices like ‘political correctness’ and ‘hate speech’, we are not only restricting others’ individual freedoms, we are playing right into the very hands of those who have caused we the people to devalue and hate each other, and for simply being different, unique individuals.

The powers that be have learned how to use our suspicious natures and irrational fears against us. They have created ‘hatred between the races’ by setting us against each other, in every way imaginable, and then creating and pandering manipulative and divisive terms for us to label each other with, such as ‘racism’, ‘racist’, ‘bigot’, ‘homophobic’, ‘politically correct/incorrect’, ‘intolerant’ and ‘sexist’, which, in the end, only serve to breed more suspicion, anger and hatred. Name calling and labeling never resolves a crisis, as any functioning, mature adult should know by now. And these manipulative devices amount to nothing more than name calling and labeling.

These elite-creatures have created in each of us, no matter our ‘race’, color or creed, the suspicion, fear and hatred we experience with each other. And they have turned right around and condemned us for our suspicions, fears and hatred. This is nothing but mind-control.

These elite-swine have manipulated and abused we the people in every way possible, in order to keep us fearful, angry and confused, and simply so they can maintain control over us. And yet, most of us are still completely unaware of these creatures’ despotic methods. In fact, most of us, unbelievably and sadly, are unaware that there are problems needing to be resolved.

For two-hundred-plus years, these elite-creatures have been dangling the political ‘rights’ carrot in front of our faces, but just far enough in front that we couldn’t fully grasp these phantoms and frauds. And the elite-swine did this in order to keep us separated into ‘victimized groups’ and ‘non-victimized groups’ (‘dependent groups’). In particular, the powers that be have used this political ‘carrot’ on those of us who have been least represented, those of us who have benefited least from this system/order: Blacks, Hispanics and other ‘minorities’. And as this writer points out, these creatures’ aim is to keep all of us separated into disparate groups: Whites in one ‘dependent group’, benefiting the most, and Blacks in another ‘dependent group’, benefiting the least, and so on… And in this way, these creatures have kept Blacks and Whites separated/divided (‘segregated’) and at war with each other, while stealing away their identities, their individuality.

And yes, most Whites have taken advantage of this system/order, with little concern for Blacks and the other ‘minorities’, which has led to even more anger, hatred and division. We have all been used by this evil system/order, in one way or another, and, in the end, we will have paid an enormous price for it, whether White, Black, Hispanic, American Indian, Arab or Asian. All of us, in the end, will have relinquished our individual identities, we will have ‘given up the ghost’, in order to maintain or finally grasp hold of our [non-existent] political ‘rights’ (‘the carrot’), as members of our particular ‘dependent group’. And we will continue in this manner, until we finally choose to awaken to this truth, and stop playing the fictitious roles of ‘victor’ and ‘victim’ we have been despotically cast to play.

{I am in no way downplaying or making excuses for the atrocities that have been perpetrated on Blacks and other minorities, especially since my ‘race’ (White) has been used to carry out most of these atrocities. I am trying to show that by being separated into ‘dependent groups’, because of our suspicions, fears and hatred, that we are being manipulated by the elite powers that be. These creatures have created this divisive, hate-filled environment we all exist in, today. And they, our true enemies, want to keep all of us enslaved in it, by convincing us that our so-called political ‘rights’ are being withheld from us by another ‘dependent group’, thus keeping us divided and at each others’ throats. And in this way, these creatures can keep us continually at war with each other, while being totally unaware of their true agenda. So please stay with me, here. This is not easy for me to explain the truth I sense in this article, a truth that I believe is for all of us!}

It is we, as individuals, who decide who and what we are, not someone else or some system/order of evil men. A rich and powerful human being can be a ‘victim’ of his or her own greed, just as a poor human being can be a ‘victor’, because he or she knows who they are and are content with that knowledge. ‘Victim’ and ‘victor’ are both frauds, they truly don’t exist, unless we give them the power to, and then allow them to rule over us.

We choose to be who we are, no matter our circumstances, and thus we are responsible for who we are, no matter our circumstances. This is what being a truly free individual, I believe, is all about. All political ‘freedoms’ are as fraudulent as ‘victor’ and ‘victim’.

We, in a sense, have been castrated by these creatures, only what they have removed from us, in this case, is who and what we truly are: unique and important individuals!

We the people of this world must regain our IDENTITIES as INDIVIDUALS, if we are ever to be truly free. And we must throw off these chains of ‘victim’/’victor’ mentality, which have held our ancestors, and us, captive throughout the ages. We are INDIVIDUAL human beings, before we are anything else: we are individuals, before we are whites, blacks, reds or yellows, we are individuals, before we are males or females, we are individuals, before we are Mericans, Englishmen or Africans, we are individuals, before we are democrats or republicans, we are individuals, before we are liberals or conservatives, we are individuals, before we are Christians, Muslims or Jews. God Damn It, we are individual human beings, before we are any of these manipulative and divisive masks, which have been forced on us and used to keep we the people divided and under the control of this minority of psychopaths!

So here are a few questions:

Is it possible for we the people of this world to set aside our ethnicity/race/skin-color, gender and nationality, everything that divides us, in order that we may come together, as individuals, and seek a unified, worldwide humanity? Can we set aside our non-existent political ‘rights’, so we can come together, as individuals, and begin to recognize how this tiny minority of psychopaths has been keeping all of us separate and at war with each other? Can Blacks and Hispanics, as well as other ‘minorities’, find it in themselves to forgive White people, so that we can come together, as individuals, and conquer our real enemy, our common enemy, this elite-swine minority? And can White people come to understand, and admit, that they have been willingly used to carry out these creatures’ evil agenda?

If we can’t get this done, then I see no hope for us or future generations.

By using words like unified and together, I am not suggesting any kind of one world anything. By unified and together, I mean doing away with this system/order that has kept us fearing and hating each other. We need to come to trust and love each other enough, individually, that we make room for each of us to live as each sees fit, whether it be in groups or individually. The rest we can figure out as we go. Organization leads to control and control to a system/order like the one we have now.

We don’t have need of all the answers, at first, we just need to start living, for once!

  1. Tubularsock would add that “family” is one of the major preventers of individual growth. In most cases one is never seen by their “family” as “new”. One is only defined within their past.

To be a free individual one has to break from all ties that bind you.

    Good luck with that!

  2. Great point, Tubular!

I loved my family, but since they have been gone, I’ve been much freer to live my life my way and be who I truly am, a complete asshole;-)

Yes, it seems that to truly be free an individual must break all ties, OR…. maybe, perhaps, could be, have the guts to not allow family to take and keep control! And I would add close friends to this list, too!

Maybe this is why sojourner only has Tubular, Shelby, and a few others? Birds of a feather…? Peas in a pod?

  3. Agree. I am lucky not to be a valid member of any group, it was a source of great sadness and isolation for me until I grew into this ‘free’ person. Society regularly sees me as within a group, but at no time have I ever gained acceptance into those groups. Adopted and then disowned by my family/families, it is hard for me to identify with any clan for more than a few minutes. I consider myself to be of the earth and to be of the one true race – the human race. Consequently people regularly yell abuse at me, it’s upsetting but I understand. My indoctrination into society has failed completely. Everything I write is from this one perspective–free yourself, no-one can or will rescue you… So I am glad you put up this post, Sojourner. Thanks.

  4. Thank you, Robyn!

It seems we have this in common, too. I have never fit in with any group. Even when I was a child, I seemed to be sitting on the outside looking in. And, of course, when I was a child, this was very difficult for me. As I grew older, I began to be resentful and angry over this, and this resentment and anger continued until I was in my early fifties, even though I had no real desire to fit in.

But about thirteen years ago, or so, I finally began to understand that this is truly who I am, this is my identity, my individuality. I don’t fit in, and I don’t believe, now, that I was made to fit in. And there is much peace in coming to this understanding, isn’t there. At least the peace of knowing who I am and why I don’t fit in.

Even with my music, it has always been outside what others, in the classical audience, would prefer to listen to, but I still write anyway. It is all I can write, since it is what comes from inside of me. I cannot write music in any other fashion, nor do I care to, anymore.

I was concerned about offending others with this article, and it took me almost a week of editing and rewriting before I had the gumption to post it.

I am so glad this registered with you, Robyn, that makes me feel more comfort in posting it.

Thank you so much for sharing this with me!

  5. I reckon the only people who could be offended are those who aren’t ready to be free. That’s OK. We all get attached to our roles at some point. When people run out of options the truth will always be there, waiting… I most sincerely encourage you to keep speaking your truth and writing your music the way you are inspired to, all the people who need to hear it will find you sooner or later and your music will be like a spring in the desert to them. I suppose I believe that individuality inspires true human connection. You are making me think about this even more… so again, thank you very much!

  6. Thank you, Robyn, for the very encouraging words. I want to encourage you also. You’re poetry is beautiful and inspiring. We need beauty and inspiration. And we especially need light, in all of this darkness, and your poetry serves as that light.

I wish I had more of your nature in me. I admire people, like you, who can get their point across in a rational, loving way. I have more of a bull in a China shop approach to communication. But I feel myself, at least to some extent, mellowing out a little.

Anyway, I thank you for encouraging me with my music, but more I thank you for encouraging me to keep writing on this blog. I respect you, and so your words of encouragement mean a great deal to me, believe me!

    Thanks again!
