Promises to Keep

With all the pain and sorrow in this troubled world, here is a beautiful poem to take in and be moved and encouraged by:

Voices from the Margins

Carol A. Hand

Sometimes I wish there was someone to rock me to sleep
To lighten my burdens and give me time to weep
Some days the cruelty seems too heavy to bear
The powerful keep causing suffering and don’t seem to care.

Hubris and profligacy rule in these days
Tragically it’s the earth and the majority that pays
Let me breathe in love, let my courage run deep
Let me love life fiercely, I have promises to keep.

I wanted to give credit for the eclectic sources of inspiration woven into this work:

Rock me to sleep” was inspired by a song that I remembered from years ago, “Rockin’ myself to sleep.” It was written by Stuart Stotts and recorded by Laurie Ellen Neustadt (1987), Harvestime songs of aging. Madison, WI: Laurie Ellen Neustadt &…

Let us hope this article is correct, for the sake of this planet and all of humanity!

Desultory Heroics

By Lance Schuttler

Make no mistake about it. The tide has turned on the global elite and there will be no going back. A new day is rising for humanity as those who have planned for complete control are now being exposed, cornered and investigated from many different angles. There is no need to buy into the fear-based propaganda the major media and even several alternative media outlets dispense. Very good things are happening and even better things are coming. Here is yet another post that will, I’m sure, make many Mericans even more proud, in their “dumbed-down,” dehumanized, “exceptional” state!

This week the USAID’s “Large shipment of life-saving assistance arrives in Yemen”.

According to its website:

WASHINGTON, D.C. -The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) announced the arrival of enough wheat to feed more than one million people for two months in Yemen this morning. The wheat shipment from USAID totals 35,800tons and is valued at approximately $21million. It will support the emergency food assistance efforts of the UN World Food Program (WFP).

Wow, $21 million ……. sounds like a lot doesn’t it.

And this week from the U.S. State Department:

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. State Department has approved the possible sale to Saudi Arabia of 5.4 billion in additional PAC-3 missiles built by Lockheed Martin Corp., the Pentagon said . . . and $500 million worth of ammunition. (Reuters)

Well it seems to Tubularsock that that $21 million doesn’t seem like very much anymore.

Teach My Kids … But Not So Much

You want proof that your public education system is nothing but a “dumbing down,” propagandizing tool of the elite-swine, Mr and Ms Merica?

Well here is some!

Take Heart!

“We are not afraid to entrust the American people with unpleasant facts, foreign ideas, alien philosophies, and competitive values. For a nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.” –John F. Kennedy

“Truth does not change according to our ability to stomach it.” –Flannery O’Connor

“Those who trust us educate us.” –T. S. Eliot

And if they happen not to trust us? Looks like they’ll indoctrinate us instead. If we let them. Sugar-coat our shameful past, then tell our children the fairy tale version is the whole truth. And if they can, they’ll also sell us a million board-feet or so of toothpicks whittled from Washington’s famous cherry tree. Or maybe from his wooden teeth? Either way, you do want your authentic little piece of history, don’t you? Order now, while supplies…
