“The Signs of Our Collective Insanity…”

I came across the following article the other day. And at first, I wasn’t going to bother reading it, since it deals primarily with the spiritual. But as much as I have been attempting to stay away from the spiritual, especially in my postings, I could not help but feel convicted as I read.

Here is the opening statement:

“…the final goal of world revolution is not Socialism or even Communism, it is not a change in the existing economic system, it is not the destruction of civilization in a material sense; the revolution desired by the leaders is a moral and spiritual revolution, an anarchy of ideas by which all standards set up throughout nineteen centuries shall be reversed.” – Nesta Webster, Secret Societies and Subversive Movements

The signs of our collective insanity in today’s world are ubiquitous. Looming overhead like some ghoulish specter is that dark era so powerfully portrayed by Picasso in his Guernica, what the Indian philosophers termed Kali Yuga and the Greeks called Iron, a sort of Saturnine eclipse. Intellectualism, doctrinairism, atheistic materialism, authoritarianism, realism, excessive rationality, collectivism- these are the hallmarks of our contemporary society. The Waste Land, as T.S. Eliot called it, or Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World… a veritable desert for the soul.

Modernity is now home to a Reason that has usurped the throne of Spirit and declares itself the All. As opposed to using thought, thought all too often uses us. As a result, the stock market is now Genius, man towers over Nature, science walks stern and rigid, politics plays with extraneous inanity, economics races to the bottom, and orthodox, ecclesiastical religion signifies a spiritual death. The masses are always moving, never still. Death, Degeneration, Corruption, Inversion, Perversion. The temerity of reason now a splinter fracturing the psyche the gap of which grows greater with each passing day. For man is afraid to look in his own mirror.

I hear people expressing the following, or something like it, almost every day: “Why is everything going to hell? Why is the world so screwed up?” But if I dare to suggest a reason why this might be, I am almost always met with either a blank stare or outright indignation. To suggest to most folks, today, that we human beings are slowly but surely becoming less and less human, and that the elite owned and operated governments, corporations, and materialist ‘science’ are all responsible for this decline, is to almost always draw an immediate, angry response. Most folks, these days, are unwilling to listen to anything that does not immediately reinforce their own brand of ‘reality’.

I have found that it is of no profit to give plausible answers to folks who are completely unwilling to seek out and ask the questions needed to begin to put an end to this hell on earth: “Is this world system of government the real problem we are all facing?” or “Why are we so willing to bend over backwards for an elite class that cares nothing for us and our children?” or “Has Darwinism/eugenics helped to dehumanize us?” Willful ignorance, which I believe is primarily caused by fear-driven arrogance, reigns supreme among the majority, and this, once again, is the sad result:

As I have shared many times before, I walked away from religion years ago, and I have never looked back. But from childhood, I have carried with me a strong sense that the material/physical realm is not all there is. I have always sensed that something more was, and still is, at work in all that has happened in my life, my friend’s lives, and others’. And this sense, I can assure you, has no connection with a religion or its doctrine/dogma.

I can’t help but sense that there is much more to the universe, the planet, nature and humanity than what our ‘reason’ and five senses, alone, can fully detect and comprehend. I believe there is much more to the universe, the planet, nature and humanity than what materialist ‘science’, the religious choice of many today, is willing to acknowledge. And I know I am not alone here, nor have I ever been:

Nikola Tesla stated,

“The Day science begins to study the non-physical phenomena, it will make more progress in one decade than in all the previous centuries of its existence.”

Einstein had a sense of this,

He who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead; his eyes are closed. Albert Einstein

And then there is this quote from Konrad Lorenz:

We always seem to be so eager to throw the baby out with the bathwater. We have been programmed/conditioned by the government-controlled education system, the media, and Hollywood, to throw out all that HAS BEEN and seek only WHAT IS and WHAT IS TO COME. We always seem to be in such a rush ‘to know’; to prove to ourselves that there is nothing we cannot uncover/discover, and then overcome/conquer. And I believe what lies behind this compulsive rush ‘to know’ is fear: of the unknown, the unexplained, the “non-physical phenomena,” just as it has been since humanity first appeared on earth.

Of course the unknown can be terrifying, especially the unknown that cannot be automatically and systematically forced into a nice, neat little box, a nice, neat little theory, and then placed on the shelf, where we no longer have need to question or worry about it.

So what we have been programmed to settle for today, in order to quickly dispel our fears, are the know-it-all talking-heads; the “experts” who claim to have all the answers to all that plagues us, the planet and beyond. When in reality, these “experts” have no answers to any of the serious issues facing us and the planet. And the evidence for this is all around us, if we will simply open our eyes and take a good look around.

Needless to say, technology has advanced by leaps and bounds over the last century. But what about everything else that pertains to life and living? As a result of all this advanced technology, is the world itself, the atmosphere, flora and fauna, better off or worse now? Has the health and safety/security of we the individuals truly been enhanced by technology, or are we more vulnerable now than ever? Have poverty, drought, famine and disease been eradicated, or even lessened, by technology? Have we the individuals, worldwide, learned how to come together and be united through this technology, or are we even more suspicious and fearful of each other now? Are we more knowledgeable, aware and wise today, than our parents and grandparents, or have we simply been ‘educated’ (indoctrinated/brainwashed)? Are the arts, and thus, culture, flourishing in the world today, or has art been raped and pillaged by corporate-capitalism/consumerism, just like most everything else? Have wars now become a thing of the past, or has war been enhanced and advanced by technology? Do we the individuals work to live, or do we live to work so the few already wealthy can become even more wealthy? Are we the individuals truly free, or are we still giving our consent to be ruled over by a tiny minority? Are we the individuals, worldwide, content, fulfilled and happy to be alive, because life has meaning, and we have found a purpose that fulfills us, or is life drudgery and pain? Are we hopeful for our children’s and their children’s future, or are we terrified of what will happen to them after we are gone?

Many of us have walked away from religion, but we have yet to walk away from one of the major symptoms that drew us to religion in the first place; we have simply replaced the hierophant, the ministers, popes, priests and pastors, with “experts”, especially ‘scientific’ ones (saviors). Instead of heading to church on Sunday to get our fix from fear, we now turn on the boob-tube and listen to some bloviating ass with a PhD, and an asinine hair-do, spew out his or her as-of-yet unsubstantiated ‘scientific’ dogma. And just as we had done with our Sunday hierophants, we cling to every word these “experts” speak, as if they were coming from the very mouth of the creator/universe.

I believe mankind has only begun to scratch the surface of knowledge, especially when it comes to the entirety of the creation: the material/physical and non-physical realms. But we have been conditioned to give up our fear of the unknown to our governments and the current, sad state of ‘science’; we erroneously believe that our government officials and materialist ‘scientists’ will inform and protect us from the known and unknown. We have simply given ourselves over to a new set of sold-out hucksters and Charlatans. Every last ditty these con-men put forth as TRUTH, we accept without reservation, since to not do so would mean admitting we have no great protector (savior) and are vulnerable.

Guess what, people? We are vulnerable! Humanity has always been vulnerable. It is a part of living, just like being born and dying.

We have become “the mouse that roared!” We are nano-specs on a nano-spec, in a bigger nano-spec, and yet we have come to arrogantly believe we know the when and how of the universe’s beginnings, and when it will come to an end. And we supposedly achieved this miraculous goal in just a few hundred years. We profess unsubstantiated ‘scientific’ theories as if they are the absolute truth of all absolute truths. Many of us have become little different from a frothing-at-the-mouth fundamentalist, professing his god, and hell and damnation for those who refuse to believe.

If there is an alien race watching us and our so-called ‘scientists’, they must be laughing while quoting Shakespeare: “What fools these mortals be!”

I do believe there is another realm beyond what we can perceive with our limited, physical senses. And I also believe that the only way we can ever come to know this unseen realm is to discover it, first and foremost, on our own, and then share it, collectively. Otherwise, we will always be “the sheep” in search of “the shepherd” (the savior).

I believe we are in this sad state, first of all, because we have been mind-controlled (indoctrinated/programmed) to be so from birth. So the only way we can find our way back to life and truth is to look inward (introspection), to seek to know who we truly are, and what part we have to play in this life as members of the universe. I believe the answers to our vast problems lie within each one of us.

“The unexamined life is not worth living” Socrates

I also believe that, at one point in time, we all had great internal powers to draw from. But over time, the psychopaths-in-charge discovered how to hide our powers from us, so they could control and rule over us and the world.

There is more to life and living than what meets the eye! And if we are ever to solve our problems, there will need to be some kind of great awakening among all of us, all of humanity. But as it stands now, we are completely divided, weak and fearful, and thus incapable of overcoming the monstrous power that has hold of ourselves and our lives at the moment.
