“The only thing new in the world is the history you don’t know.” – President Harry Truman, Plain Speaking: An Oral Biography of Harry S. Truman (1974) by Merle Miller, pg. 26.

3-minute video: Police, Military – Was your Oath sincere?

3-minute video: US imperialism 1900 – 2010:

This article series is among hundreds in alternative media that explain, document, and prove that the United States continuously engage in the viciously destructive policies of a rogue state, with a required and obvious citizen response to call for arrests of those .01% leaders of these crimes centering in war, money, and corporate media lies. The eleven parts of this series are also from my paper on teaching critical thinking skills to high school students in classes of US History, Government, and Economics.

Eleven sections (hyperlinks to be updated as series is published, with original links now for your convenience):

1) Introduction to define ‘rogue state’ as perfect match with US illegal Wars of Aggression, Crimes Against Humanity, dictatorial government

2) The US violated ~600 treaties with Native Americans to steal Native American land. A treaty is signed by a US President, approved by 2/3 vote of the US Senate, and under Article VI of the US Constitution becomes US “supreme Law.” These ongoing “in your face” violations of “supreme Law” became the precedent to typical hypocritical and unlawful US policies of the present.

3) US President Polk lied to Congress (with their approval) to initiate War of Aggression on Mexico. The result was the US illegally stealing 40% of Mexico in 1848. Congress opposed Abraham Lincoln’s crystal-clear explanation as a member of Congress that the Adams-Onís Treaty placed the so-called “border dispute” 400 miles within land forever promised to Mexico and forever promised as outside any US claim.

4) The US violated our treaty with Hawaii and stole their country in 1898.

5) The US reneged on promises of freedom after the Spanish American War to impose colonialism on the Philippines, and install US-friendly dictators in Cuba. US military slaughtered resisters, calling them yesterday’s version of “terrorists.”

6) The US entered WW1 upon no national security threat to the US, and imprisoned the 3rd party presidential candidate for challenging “official reasons” for war.

7) The CIA had several covert wars; perhaps most important in today’s context of war on Iran: “Operation Ajax” that overthrew Iran’s democracy and installed a US-friendly and brutal dictator. When that dictator was overthrown and Iran refused another, the US aided Iraq to unlawfully invade and attack Iran from 1980-1988; killing up to a million Iranians. If the US lied and acted twice to unlawfully overthrew Iran’s democracy within many of our own lifetimes, shouldn’t we assume first another lie-started unlawful war today?

8) The Vietnam War followed US permission to cancel the election to unify the country. The US stopped democracy to keep a friendly government, and perhaps to have ongoing live weapons testing and development. War escalated with the Gulf of Tonkin incident, deliberate provocation to manipulate a false-flag event for “defensive” war.

9) Perhaps most disturbing is the King Family civil suit that found the US government guilty in the assassination of Dr. King (and here). Corporate media, including our text publishers, omit this history. The King family’s conclusion is that Martin was assassinated to prevent his “Occupy DC” plan beginning for the summer of 1968 to end his version of today’s wars.

10) We now know from Congressional reports that all “reasons” for war with Iraq were known to be false as they were told.

11) The two “reasons” for war with Iran are as false as the “reasons” for war with Iraq: Iran never threatened Israel, and Iran’s nuclear energy and medicine programs are IAEA-verified as completely safe and lawful.

Vietnam: canceling democracy to back a dictator and cause civil war, false flag for illegal US military invasion, war-murdering millions (8 of 11)

There are examples of virtuous US policy, such as the Marshall Plan after WW2. In 1947, the Marshall Plan replaced the punitive Joint Chiefs of Staff 1067 (JCS 1067) plan that restricted trade to Germany and caused a slow starvation diet of ~1,000 calories a day that deliberately killed German civilians (23). The Marshall Plan worked for the revitalization of participating European countries’ economies. By the end of the program in 1953, all countries’ economies except for Germany were performing higher than pre-war levels (24).

As you may know, many US activists in your world of the present request a “New Marshall Plan” for global development rather than expanding “wars on terror.” Many activists, including Dr. King, requested this rather than “wars on communism,” especially with the Vietnam War.

The following is conservatively accepted history of the Vietnam War; that is, information in agreement with admissions from our own government reports and unchallenged (as far as I know) by any professional historian. The understanding of this history by those of us who study it does not guarantee that many Americans will recognize the poignant facts. Please feel free to verify. In one paragraph:

After the “War to make the World Safe for Democracy,” Ho Chi Minh’s petition for a democratic Vietnam was denied by the victors of WW1. Vietnam remained under France’s dictatorship for economic and political colonial domination. The US supported Minh during WW2 in his guerilla warfare against Japan, only to deny his petition for Vietnam’s independence at the end of the war. The US paid for up to 80% of France’s military costs to keep Vietnam enslaved by the French. The US supported the cancellation of an election in Vietnam when it became clear that Minh’s socialistic economic plan was more popular than a Western-friendly leader. The Vietnam War exploded with SecDef McNamara’s contrived reporting of the Gulf of Tonkin incident; (25) manipulated intelligence at best (26) in first light, but then manipulated into an outright false-flag attack. The war escalated with unlawful invasions and attacks in Laos and Cambodia, dropping more bombs than from all sides of WW2 combined on a country smaller than California that killed perhaps 10% of their civilian population, ~3.5 million. The government’s stated goal at the time was to “defeat communism” by winning the hearts and minds of civilians while we killed over 1,000 civilian children, women and the elderly daily through high-altitude bombing. The war killed 58,000 Americans, and only ended through massive US demonstrations.

Let’s pause a moment and let these facts penetrate: the US government now admits that the Gulf of Tonkin incident that launched the Vietnam War was a contrived false-flag operation to manipulate public opinion for war. This conclusion seems irrefutable from the documentation, released phone conversations of President Johnson making that admission, and multiple public statements from SecDef McNamara, including the 2003 Academy Award-winning Feature Documentary, The Fog of War (27). 3-minutes of McNamara explaining from the film:

Does this mean exactly what it seems: that US leadership in the office of the president and Congress willfully lied about “self-defense” to begin a war, continued lying as long as they could to continue that war, and now lie by omission to not remind Americans about this history in light of current US wars?

Does the Vietnam War fit a pattern of intentional deceit from US political leadership to propagandize Americans to support wars of choice, and should this explanation be among our first to consider US wars in the present?

  1. There are two mistakes in this video my dear Earthling friend. At 1912 it hasn’t been US and Turkey(at those days Ottoman) conflict, also at 1919 it didn’t same again. Yes, US entered the WWI, but US fought with Germany which was an ally of the Ottoman, at Germany’s western front. It has never been at that days, Turks and Americans war face to face with eachother, even they didn’t see their faces.:)

But when Germany defeated, Ottoman was accepted as the defeat at same fronts, and US has gain the right of sitting on treaty table. Also, maybe you don’t believe, there were some Turkish after the WWI, they wanted to be one state of US’s states. I guess, these Turks thought “we didn’t fight with Americans maybe their management would be fine, if we are accepted as defeating, we can be live under it’s flag”. But you know Turkish Independence war begun and all these Turks dreams fallen down:)

Also, at those days, when I read the papers of history, I see that Ataturk had sympathy to Americans. As far as I can see the his actions, again I guess, this is only my opinion. For example, he gave his first interview to American newspaper to the world.

Even, USA and Turkey never been in a fight with each other at fronts at history,(maybe this is an unique exam on the planet 🙂 US governments especially after WWII they used and still use the governments of Turkey. For example, behind the military coup 1980 in Turkey, there was USA government. Also one former CIA agent has confess this. So many leftist Turkish, Kurdish people died and were tortured because of USA government because of this military coup.

And you do a great job dear sojourner!

Actually not for east people, for your people. Any people at east are not enemy to American people, not hate American people. But they don’t like/love US governments. Even I see more similarty especially between the communities of Turkish and Americans. Americans are more close people more than Europeans to Anatolian people.

And Americans have to read your posts, have to see these realities, have to see what did US governments do, also stilll do, have to see why eastern people don’t like US governments.

And for me, thank you so much!

  2. I didn’t sense that he was saying the US and Turkey had been at war, my friend, except for what you have pointed out above, the Ottoman Empire as an ally of Germany in WW1.

The whole point of this post is that the US wages illegal wars against the rest of the world, not just Turkey or people in the East. This is why I posted it.

    Sorry for the misunderstanding!

  3. Actually I am sorry. Because of I realize now, I didn’t write which video I talked about. I was mentioning second video. USA imperialism/military operations 1900-2010. When it says military operations, I thought USA fights with the others besides the operations. That’s why I tried to correct the date of “1914” and “1919” about Turkey.
