“The Intellectual Yet Idiot”

It seems that I am not alone in my rejection of the “intellectual-idiot” status quo. The “intellectual-idiots” have brought humanity and the planet to the very brink of annihilation, and yet, these self-proclaimed geniuses are never, not even for a moment, willing to reconsider what they pander as being the absolute truth; or, in reality, religious doctrine/dogma in the guise of ‘enlightened reason and knowledge’.

Like most young people, when I first entered the ivy covered walls of “higher education” at age eighteen, I had been in awe of my professors. But by the time I had finished my master’s degree, the awe had turned into disdain and disgust. There had been pompous asses to the right and left of me all throughout my college experience, in the form of professors/instructors. And almost every one of these pompous asses had failed in the real world, so they had turned to the old stand by, the fall-back-on, career, which was molesting young men and women’s psyches and souls and getting paid for it.

The Intellectual Yet Idiot

To see the world as it is, rather than it is painted by media and academia, requires work and a willingness to challenge cherished beliefs nurtured from birth, ie. an open mind.

Many of the people who engage with the work of Critical Thinking are self-taught through their own exploration; whereas those with a string of letters, signifying academic achievement, after their names are the least likely to question their own world view. The intelligentsia are defined by their world view and to challenge it risks jeopardising career, status and more. It is safer to remain within the fold of their peer group of intellectual idiots with no “skin in the game”.

The Intellectual Yet Idiot by Nassim Nicholas Taleb

What we have been seeing worldwide, from India to the UK to the US, is the rebellion against the inner circle of no-skin-in-the-game policymaking “clerks” and journalists-insiders, that class of paternalistic semi-intellectual experts with some Ivy league, Oxford-Cambridge, or similar label-driven education who are telling the rest of us 1) what to do, 2) what to eat, 3) how to speak, 4) how to think… and 5) who to vote for.

How much of a rebellion is taking place who knows but certainly awareness of the true state of the world is growing, albeit from a very low base. A seismic shift in human consciousness is more likely than linear progression. So take heart; the power of the intellectual idiots is fading and there is hope of a shift in human consciousness before the proverbial sh*t hits the fan.

Is Humanity F*CKED?! 5 Facts to Make You an Optimist by Humberto Braga

Let’s face it: some days, the world seems like a horrible shit show beyond any hope of redemption. Considering the destructive and unconscious actions of many people around the world, from police brutality, pollution, Paris Hilton, government corruption, systemic poverty, and the endless wars fought over resources, fake money, and lies, it can be easy to fall in to despair. But I always remind myself of the following facts when I get upset and it always fills me up with an infallible optimism, conviction, love, and purpose. I hope they bring you light when things seem dark, and uplift your spirits when the world gets heavy.

When we know why the world is as it is, we are on the way to fixing it.

  1. At the old times, like Ancient Greek, the writing like “know yourself” was written at the doors of the schools, and the students have been taken education over like these lessons. Today, firstly they say to the students “know the place of the bank” and “pay school fee.” Then everybody thinks and thinks “why the new generations don’t understand any lesson?” Of course human beings f**ked up my dear Earthling friend, any creature cannot evolve itself under the conditions like that.
