Anarchy — I don’t think it means what you think it means.
The other evening, I was watching Stranger Than Fiction for about the hundredth time. There is a scene in which Harold pays a visit to Ms Pascal (spelling?) at her bakery. He works for the IRS and is there to audit her, stating that she didn’t pay her taxes. Ms Pascal corrects him, saying she didn’t pay all her taxes. She mentions a letter she sent to the IRS and how she is happy to pay taxes to help build roads, shelters, and other services which benefit the general public, but that she’s not willing to pay taxes that are used for war, banker bailouts, and something about congressional funds. (Let’s just call it government corruption.)
Harold goes on to say that what she is describing is anarchy, and asks if she is an anarchist.
