Sometimes, the unexpected in life can be the most exceptional. I won’t drivel on about those unbelievable, maybe even once in a lifetime moments that most have had that serve your heart with a lifetime of love and goodness…you know them well and cherish them for what they have given you.
I write tonight about one of those unexpected little gems that come your way, like stumbling across videos of a cowboy, in Oklahoma – a cooking cowboy – who has created hundreds of videos sharing his culinary masterpieces, mostly prepared outside, and providing his knowledge and skills for all who might want to learn. An unexpected gem…but there’s more.
At the end of one particular video he and his wife produced, about 10 months ago, on the “best fried hush puppies”, he asked that viewers stick around for the end of the video for something special he wanted to share – a message that would do your heart some good but would might hurt it just a bit – and that was the passing of one of their beloved dogs – “Frank, the wonder dog”.
A beautiful tribute to a “family member who taught him so much about life”, follows:
Cowboy Kent Rollins
“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself ” – Josh Billings
Tonight’s musical offering:
